Is wallpaper making a comeback - property brothers

Wallpaper is making a comeback and it has come a long way from the days of paste and hang.  Think of it as art, not just a wallcovering. Adding a bit in the right spaces can style up your space.  In years past, covering all the walls and then putting a border around it was all the rage.  Today, we use it to accentuate the architecture of the home for special effect.

Recently I had a home I was styling that needed something on the walls in the kitchen to take it from drab to exciting.  The cabinets were original to the home but in excellent condition, the counter top was a formica product of a pale minty green – again in excellent condition.  I decided to make something of the space verses tearing out perfectly good cabinets and counters.  A low cost way to achieve a pop of excitement in a tired space was to add a bit of color in the form of a back splash.  I discovered a peel and stick version of wallcovering that I decided to try.  I loved it. Not only was it super easy to apply, it actually adhered itself beautifully to the slightly textured walls that we so often have here in Florida.  It was repositionable - AND NOT A WET MESS.   The results were just the pop I was looking for, and it was durable as it is a vinyl/contact paper product that looks like paper.  It fools just about everyone who looks at it.  They have to touch it to believe it.

I have only used it in this one instance, but it was affordable and easy to use overall and I would use it again without hesitation.  You can find this product just about anywhere – online and in your big box stores like Lowes. The Property Brothers have their own branded version, and this is the one I purchased.

If you have been a secret admirer of wallpaper patterns and designs, you can come out of the dark.  The best thing about this product is can be easily removed – making it great for your buyer who may want to remove it and do something else with the space visually.

Happy papering – and try something fresh and bold to add glam to your space.
